Raisin Cupcakes

I tried to make a very tasty rum-taste raisin cupcake. but i only managed to make a tasty raisin cupcake.

perhaps the raisins weren't soaked long enough. but alas, a baking entry! :)
shall try another batch soon though.

anyways, here are how it looks :)

besides the raisin cupcakes, i'm proud to announce that..
i've attended my first baking lesson!

Yesterday, I attended my first lesson at Creative Culinaire by Chef Judy Koh.
She's a nice lady :)
People who are interested to learn baking (cake, bread, etc) can try the school - they do have quite a nice cafe beside the school.

Despite lonely (because I attended the class alone), I had fun! And here are some outcomes of my first lesson:

sunflower cupcake (and 2 other self-decorated cupcakes)

walnut cake that i thought tasted nice :)

i've gotten the bug - the LAZY bug.

haven't thought of updating until shan posted the comment sometime back.. and until today, my sis asked me to set up the long-mentioned foodie blog.

wells, for the sake of my baking cert.. i shall do some updates! :)

after 5 years, i'm still at the crossroad - ntu/nus, or private deg?
5 years ago, i wanted to get in badly (but have no means to).
5 years later, i have the results to get in, but feel that there is some other commitments to take care of.

either way - private or local, i'll start studying this year.

to not give myself a headache, i shall put this aside for another month before revisiting this topic again.

anyway, it's a whole new month! life has been busy with work. it feels like a close family working together :) and tada.. 9 months into working.

busy is good... :) till then!

on a brighter note, we still see people travelling overseas during the downturn.
my cousin, peixian (姐姐), just came back from Japan.
and she bought this $5 apple for us.
hahahaha.

this is a sinful weekend..
had McDonald's for breakfast yesterday..
Western food for lunch today,
and KFC for dinner in awhile.
to make it worse, i baked blueberry and yoghurt crumble cake..!

the crumble portion is slightly burnt because i was too engrossed in the tv programme.
when i went back to check, it was black already.
wahahaha.

i'm glad it still tasted fine.

i love my weekends.. but why does weekends have to end so sooon.. :(

i'm back here..
BECAUSE i have no idea why my host keep attracting the unwanted spam.

and wordpress and limited..
and it's a HASSLE for me to direct blogger to my host.
i wonder wad my host provider is doing!

i wanted to create the CNAME to direct, but they haven't done it for me.
so frustrating..!

well anyways..
weekend came and went.. SO SOOOOON.
botak came back only at 1 yesterday, and had to leave by 3.30 today.
how short could that be..

i can't help but be reminded of dad's death when i learnt of ah bao's granny's death.
so sudden.
so upset.
so unacceptable.
so regrettable.

i remember i wasn't home often the last week he was alive.
i regretted reaching home late the night before he passed away.
i couldn't remember when was the last time i said i love him.

and i still can't forget seeing dad lying dead with a tube in his mouth.
it's too hurting.

i'm sorry for ah bao's lost. and i hope she'll be stronger, for i want to be stronger for dad too
although we know it's not easy.

dad, i still miss you all the time.
time doesn't seem to heal..

first, i must say i'm sorry for not updating.. but, nobody's been reading ma! =x

then, i'm 3 weeks away from arriving at Singapore International Airport! so i've got to travel to places i'm supposed to go before going back singapore, to make this trip worthwhile.

spent my last weekend in Suzhou, staying at jek and adriel's place. pretty apartment they've got all by themselves. lucky guys. and thank god the apartment not messy (for 2 guys, that is). suzhou's quite pretty, with all the olden feel. but since it's summer, all trees are green and all gardens look the same.

speaking of summer, shanghai was damn hot yesterday! 38.6 deg. gosh. at the other side of the world, greg experienced a 3 deg temperature in melbourne. i hope he's fine with staying there for the next couple of years, and not miss his girlfren as much.. and sends me many many many many postcards! =)

no more pictures till i'm back in singapore.. i've been too lazy lately. =)

unfortunately, i'm unable to view blogs hosted on blogger already.
china has decided to limit the number of blogs that can be accessed.
but here i am, able to post but unable to view.
是好是坏, 我也不晓得.

while i was away for this approximate 3 weeks, have you all been missing me?

i missed ah bao's birthday bbQ.. but i'm glad it was a success, including my call!
and i'm glad we're all happily and blissfully attached, including huishan! =)

and i missed the sending off ceremony for my roommate for 9 days.
i spoke to joanne online, and we were both worried for her.
i really hope she's fine.
i miss the days we both shared a bed.
i miss those days, and i miss the girls loads.

and during this period of time, we (interns @ SRE) were busy slogging.
slogging every weekday and night. every weekend.

sigh. nvm about slogging. God has a better way.

黄金周来匆匆，去也匆匆。
都还没玩够就开工了！

这七天去了杭州和北京，但是两个地方都还没玩够就得离开了。
so sad you know..!
but still, at least it's better than not travelling. at least i see more of the world now..

my nose bleeds like nobody's business everyday. and i so have difficulty sleeping at night due to the irritating nose. sigh. someone help me.. send me herbal tea from singapore, send me soft tissue papers from singapore, send me fisherman's friend from singapore.

it's ironic that 凉茶 originated from China with the use of those Chinese herbal leaves, yet you do not see people selling them anywhere in the streets. at least not near where i frequent.

工业园, 西樵和五镇的报告打好了! took us 5 days plus 4 late nights to come up with these 3 chinese reports. finally it's done.. phew!

it's a Saturday and we're in the office - watching videos, blogging and playing game.
they're having photo shoot at our desk so we're sitting in the enclosed meeting room, doing our own stuff (oh john just came in and needed help from us - website update). John speaks GREAT ENGLISH, really! he's the only chinese whom we spoke to in english =x

went Raffles City (by Capitaland) yesterday, it's so singapore! i stepped in and felt like i was back in singapore. haha. they have lotsa singapore brands too. oh btw, anyone has any idea if Body Shop exist in Shanghai? hehe.
